Kern Assistive Technology Center . . .
. . . is a private non-profit that works to assist people with disabilities be more independent through the use of technology. There are more than 96,000 people in Kern County who are disabled. KATC has established an equipment loan program with hundreds of pieces of equipment available to the public to try before they buy. KATC has several services offered to clients. After 11 years of services to the community, the leaders of Kern Assistive Technology Center have decided to close our doors. This decision was a difficult one for all involved. While we are closing, the legacy of KATC will live on in our community through the many lives we touched and other organizations who have applied what we've taught to help their clients.
